A Prescription of Self-Love from a Certified Life Coach Copy

In a world that capitalizes on your insecurities, loving yourself is a tough task today. This is why I am here to help you get on the wholesome track of self-love.

So, what is Self-Love?

A topic that has inspired authors to pen down thousands of books and motivational speakers to rise to fame is still wrapped in ambiguity. So, take it from a certified professional life coach. Self-love is when you value your happiness and nurture your mind, body, and soul to achieve holistic well-being.

Contrary to what Indian television will have you believe, self-love is not selfishness. Self-love is the first step to love others, stand with confidence, and take on life however it comes at you. So, here is are some of my choicest ways to practice self-love.

  1. Become Self-Dependent

There is an expanding universe of talent, strength, and creativity deep within you. All you have to do is access that space and use the residing resources to their fullest potential. There is no one who can help you, other than yourself. Take charge of your own life and move forward instead of waiting for someone to help you, put your broken pieces together, and love you.

Want to watch the sunset on a beach? Go on a solo trip. Want to try a new cuisine? Book a table for one. Want an expensive pair of shoes? Save up.

  1. Take care of yourself

Have you ever seen how a gardener treats a rose plant? It doesn’t flower in a day. It needs time and a lot of care. He waters it, gives it the right amount of sun, feeds it well, and prunes the dead ends religiously. And finally, it blooms. You are your own gardener. So take care of your body, mind, and soul.

  • Pamper yourself with a skincare routine at the end of the day.

  • Go on a run.

  • Dance to your favorite music.

  • Light your favorite candle

  • Paint. Sing.

  • Just do something that adds to your growth and makes you happy at the same time.

  1. Honour your body

Look in the mirror. Stare for as long as you want and tell yourself that you accept what you see. The flaws and the beauty, all of it. Accepted.

As the adage goes, your body is your temple. It is where your soul resides. So, take care of it. Eat healthily. Build strength. Energise. And, continue to love your body.

  1. Journal

Journaling helps you organize your thoughts and feeling into a piece of paper. Once you start journaling regularly, it helps you visualize and recognize your negative thoughts, strengths, and growth. And, recognition is the first step towards correction.

Make a list of things you love about yourself. And, add something to the list every week or month.

Make a list of your wins or things that you are grateful for at the end of the day.

  1. Challenge yourself

Psychologically, the human brain has a “need for achievement”. It is when you achieve something, big or small, that you start appreciating your abilities. So, set challenges and goals for yourself and give yourself a pat on the back when you achieve them. This also ensures continuous growth.

The essence of Self-Love lies in accepting the present, forgiving the past, and believing in your abilities. Want to know about more ways to help you get forward in life? Well, my life coaching services online are here to transform your life.
